Weymouth is a wonderfully picturesque and historic town to base a Dorset holiday, and our three bedroomed terraced cottage Chapelhay, offers comfortable accomodation.
Portland, connected to Weymouth by a shingle bank know as Chesil Beach offers a slightly different holiday. Quieter than Weymouth (though only a few minutes away by car) it is a delight for nature lovers and water sports enthusiasts alike. Mimosa, our 4 bedroomed cottage with sea views makes a wonderful year round base for your holiday.
Chapelhay Cottage
A charming 3 bedroomed Victorian terraced cottage, beautifully furnished, situated
in a quiet lane a few moments' walk from the highlights of this historic town
on Dorset's World Heritage Coast, including the quaint old harbour, award winning
Brewer's Quay, Nothe Fort and Gardens and the clean, sandy, child friendly beaches.
Meticulously restored and decorated, the cottage retains its Victorian feel
but has all the modern comforts needed to enjoy your stay in this beautiful
corner of Dorset.
There are polished floorboards with rugs throughout. The main features of Chapelhay
Cottage are:
large sitting/dining room with open fireplace and cosy log burning stove, leather
sofas and a beautiful glass topped dining table with antique church pew benches.
TV, video, stereo system, books, videos, games and tourist information all provided.
kitchen - modern and well equipped, with fridge/freezer, hob, oven, microwave,
dishwasher and washing machine (separate dryer under the stairs).
Bathroom- with large roll top cast iron bath, double basin, toilet and separate
shower cubicle.
Bedrooms – 3, sleeping 6 plus cot, all on the first floor. Beautiful master
bedroom with double iron bedstead, feature Victorian fireplace (non working),
wardrobes, tables, lamps and cosy rugs. Second bedroom with Victorian fireplace,
and twin single pine beds. At 2' 6" these are suitable for children, but
at full adult length (6ft 3") they are likely to be comfortable for many
adults too. The third bedroom has a full size single bed with iron bedhead and
pine wardrobe. A single guest bed fits under the main bed in this room, easily
rolled out to accommodate an additional adult or child.
Small sunny enclosed garden, with barbecue, pergola and decked area with table
and seating; perfect for relaxing on summer evenings after a day at the beach
or strolling the Dorset hills.
Travel cot and highchair available on request.
Bed linen and bath towels can be hired for a small additional charge; please
bring your own cot linen and beach towels.
Children are welcome; talk to us about your (well-behaved!) pet.
Limited, free, parking in Franchise Street and adjacent roads. Council (paying)
car parks a minute's walk down the hill.

Mimosa Cottage
Mimosa is a delightful 4 bedroomed Victorian cottage, tastefully furnished,
with fabulous sea views from most rooms and situated 2 minutes’ walk from
Chesil Beach on Dorset’s World Heritage Coast.
With unusual features including a wonderful attic sitting/bedroom and sunny
conservatory, Mimosa makes a perfect base for year round holidays on this beautiful
stretch of Dorset Coast.
The main features of Mimosa Cottage are:Large sitting/dining room with cosy
log burning stove, comfy sofas, TV, DVD and stereo;
Modern well equipped kitchen with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and
washer/dryer;
Ground floor bathroom, with bath and shower over;
Bedrooms-4 sleeping 8 plus cot. The first floor has 3 bedrooms, 2 with sea views,
comprising 2 doubles, and small but charming 3rd bedroom with bunk beds. On
the 2nd floor is a fantastic attic room with sofa bed, TV & video, with
sweeping views of Chesil Beach – ideal as second sitting room or a room
to give teenagers their own space.
Small, sunny conservatory, leading to deck and patio garden, enclosed, with
sea views. Barbeque provided.
Travel cot and highchair available on request. Bed linen and towel available
for small additional charge; please bring your own cot linen and beach towels.

On street parking. Local shops a short walk away in Fortuneswell; Weymouth a
short drive across the causeway.
